What to Expect at a Luxury [Boudoir Session] in St. Louis

If you have been thinking about booking a boudoir session but are not quite sure what the experience actually looks like, you are not alone. It is one of the most common questions I hear from women in St. Louis, Wildwood, Chesterfield, and the surrounding areas: what exactly happens during a luxury boudoir session?

The short answer: it is the most empowering, confidence-building experience you will ever have. But let me walk you through every step so you know exactly what to expect.

It Starts with a Conversation

Every intimate portrait experience at Blanca Photography begins with a complimentary consultation. This is a relaxed, no-pressure conversation where we get to know each other and talk about your vision for the session. We will discuss your comfort level, what styles interest you, whether you are drawn to luxe boudoir, fine art nudes, bodyscapes, or a combination.

This is also where we start planning your wardrobe. I will help you think through what to bring, what colors and fabrics photograph best, and how to create a variety of looks. The studio has select gowns, bodysuits, and robes available, but we do not provide lingerie, both for sanitary reasons and because lingerie is deeply personal. Your pieces should reflect your taste and make you feel like the most beautiful version of yourself.

The Day of Your Session

On the day of your session, you will arrive at my private home studio in Wildwood, Missouri, nestled along Wild Horse Creek in one of West County’s most beautiful neighborhoods. This is not a commercial studio. This is an artist’s home, designed entirely for your comfort and privacy. It is just you, me, and your glam team.

Complimentary sparkling water and refreshments are waiting for you. Take a breath. This is your day.

Hair and makeup comes first, and it takes about 60 to 90 minutes. Your professional glam team will transform you into the most camera-ready version of yourself while we finalize the order of your looks and talk through the session flow.

Then the session begins. I will guide you through every single pose, every expression, every outfit change. You do not need modeling experience. You do not need to know your angles. You just need to show up and trust the process.

We will typically photograph 3 to 5 different looks over about 90 to 120 minutes. Music is playing, the energy is fun and empowering, and most women tell me that by the second outfit change, they have completely forgotten the camera is even there.

Every single client who has walked through my doors nervous has walked out saying it was one of the best things she has ever done for herself.

What About Privacy?

This is something I take incredibly seriously. Your images are 100 percent private. They will never be shared, posted, or used in any way without your explicit written permission. The studio is my private home, by appointment only. No one will see you arrive, no one will walk in during your session, and no one will ever see your photos unless you decide to share them.

Your Partner is Welcome

Many women choose to include their partner for part of the session, whether for a few intimate couples shots or simply to have them there for support. If this interests you, we will plan the timing together during your consultation.

The Reveal

About two weeks after your session, you will return to the studio to see your images for the very first time. Together, we will go through your gallery and select your favorites. You will choose from museum-quality framed prints, gallery canvases, luxury albums, and curated digital collections.

The Investment

The session fee at Blanca Photography is 700 dollars and includes your planning consultation, professional hair and makeup, guided posing, and your reveal session. Two weeks before your session, an 800 dollar product deposit is due, which goes toward your collection purchase. Collections start at 2,200 dollars.
